The Akshara Scholarship, officially known as the Ruma Devi - Gulab Ben / Ruma Devi - Sugdi Devi Akshara Scholarship, is a flagship initiative by the Ruma Devi Foundation aimed at supporting not only those who are talented but who needs it most and are financially challenged students and artists from rural areas in Rajasthan's Barmer and Balotra districts. The program provides financial assistance ranging from ₹25,000 to ₹1,00,000 across four categories: education, arts, sports, and medical/technical education. Notably, 60% of the scholarships are reserved for girls, promoting gender equality and empowering young women to pursue their aspirations.
Education: Students enrolled in Class 11, 12, undergraduate programs, or equivalent diploma courses.
Arts: Individuals demonstrating exceptional talent in visual or performing arts.
Sports: Athletes with notable achievements at district, state, or national levels.
Medical/Technical: Students pursuing medical or technical education.
Registration: Visit the official Ruma Devi Foundation website and complete the registration form.

Application Submission: Fill out the application form with accurate details and upload necessary documents, including academic records, income certificate, and proof of achievements in arts or sports.

Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview, accompanied by their parents or guardians.

Final Selection: Based on the application and interview performance, the final list of selected scholars will be announced.
