To bring a change in societal thinking regarding the birth of a girl child and to celebrate it as a joyful occasion, social worker Dr. Ruma Devi initiated the “Raksha Yojna” under the “Beti Bachao” (Save the Daughter) campaign three years ago. Under this scheme, a fixed deposit of ₹20,000 is made in the name of the selected girl child, and a plant is gifted to her. These little daughters are also honored as brand ambassadors of the village's “Beti Bachao” initiative.
