Digital Bridges: How We Amplify Rural Voices from Barmer to the World

Bridging the Gap: Our Digital Journey

At the Ruma Devi Foundation, our mission has always been rooted in the soil of Barmer. From empowering over 50,000 women artisans to lighting up homes through Project Chirag, our work is deeply physical and on-the-ground. However, in today’s connected world, the impact of rural initiatives relies heavily on how effectively we can share our stories with the global community.

Operating out of Barmer, Rajasthan, presents unique logistical challenges. While our region is rich in culture and talent, exemplified by the thousands of artists we celebrate at Vanee Utsav, finding specialised technical partners to build a robust digital infrastructure was difficult.

Maximizing Funds for Impact

As a non-governmental organisation, our financial philosophy is simple: every rupee counts. We strive to ensure that the maximum amount of our funding goes directly toward our initiatives, such as the Akshara Scholarship or the Raksha Yojna. We cannot afford to spend heavily on administrative overheads or expensive corporate agencies.

This is where we found a perfect alignment with Ravi Jaipal, and his agency, Jaipax Studio.

Finding a website building agency in Barmer that understood both modern technology and the constraints of the social sector was a challenge, but Jaipax Studio stepped in as the right call for us. They understood that for an NGO, a website isn't just a "digital decoration," but a strategic tool to grow our reach and stability.

More Than Just a Website

Ravi and his team didn't just write code; they helped us build a digital ecosystem capable of handling our specific needs at very minimal fees.

• Streamlining Operations: Whether it is accepting nominations for the Women in Change Awards or managing donor inquiries, Jaipax helped us set up seamless forms and back-end systems.

• Google for Nonprofits: One of the most significant value-adds was their assistance in setting up Google for Nonprofits. This has allowed us to access technology and tools that we otherwise might have missed, ensuring our team operates efficiently.

• Sharing Our Stories: They structured our blog section, allowing us to publish updates on everything from Menstrual Hygiene Camps to our interactions with global leaders.

A Partner in growth

We are grateful to Jaipax Studio for providing us with a "pocket-friendly" high-performance website that requires low maintenance, allowing our team to focus on what matters most: empowering rural India. In a landscape where we need to be careful with resources to sustain projects like the Rural Sports Complex and sewing machine distribution, having a tech partner who works with an "ROI-driven" mindset has been invaluable.

To other NGOs and businesses in Rajasthan looking for genuine digital support that prioritises growth over jargon, we are happy to acknowledge the support of Ravi Jaipal and his team.
